ALL STATE PREPS is different because we have a proven track record of helping hundreds of athletes get exposure and putting them on big platforms to be seen. We sincerely care about our athletes, and we are honest with our opinions, and don't sell dreams.
It's never too early to try to get on the radar of college coaches. Class of 2027 linebacker intends to do that this off-season by taking unofficial visits and going to prospect camps. Smith, a 6-foot-1, 215 pound edge/linebacker, plays for Palmyra High School in Pennsylvania. He spoke with All State Preps about his most-recent unofficial visit to Temple this past Saturday.
During his visit to Temple's campus in Philadelphia, Smith had an opportunity to speak with three coaches: Everett Withers (defensive coordinator), Kevon Beckwith (defensive tackles coach), and Chris Wiesehan (Offensive Line Coach/Run Game coordinator).
"When I talked to Coach Withers, we discussed the recruiting timeline for the class of 2027," said Smith. The fact that he was a freshman was a surprise to the coaching staff according to Smith. "Each coach seemed surprised to find out that I'm a freshman. I guess it's because I have a large frame and decent size for my age."
Temple is in the midst of holding its spring practices and Smith had an opportunity to watch the Owls in action. He came away with a lot of positive takes on what he saw during Temple's practice. "I saw a lot of enthusiasm and love for the game through the coaches and players," said Smith. "Every single player cared about making each other better and holding each other accountable. You could feel the excitement. It was awesome. It felt like I belonged."
Smith says he plans to return to Temple for the Owls' prospect camp on Jun. 8.
